Alaric Ortiz Profile
What I do: I love fictional writing, but it's best to expose myself to nonfiction as well. It was either this class or Writing for Yearbook. I chose this class because I have a little bit of background on this from joining the Speech team last year. In speech, I did Radio Speaking. I will possibly keep doing that this year to make sure I'm used to the writing style of news reports. Who I am: I'm a bit of a tech person - not able to fix deletion of system32 or anything, but I can locate files on computers and know how to install and use many programs, as well as avoid potential viruses/scams. I came from Davenport, Iowa, where I was born, and I grew up in Aurora and primarily Oak Lawn after I moved here in second grade. What I like: I adore spending time on the internet, yet surprisingly I have little form of social media. Most of my time is spent gaming with my laptop, which is where most of my tech background comes from. I chat with people all over the world. I also enjoy tabletop games, including TCG's and the unique board game every now and then, such as "Betrayal at the House on the Hill." I love riding my bike in the summer with friends, and I also like reading quite a bit. Talk to me about: Subjects of conversation that pique my interest are debates on some controversial areas/opinions, and hobbies discussed overall. The pursuit of knowledge is also something I find myself engrossed in often. Clubs I've considered are Gaming Club and Speech, but I don't usually linger after school.
