The start of a new season has started  up this weeked for the Richards Baseball team at Rich Central.

As the team has been preparing prior for 3 weeks they’re preparing for a great season this year.

“I have a lot of high expectations for this season. I think we’ll do pretty well we’ve been preparing really hard while working during the off season. We’ve been trying to focus within ourselves during some of the practices before school and after school” said senior, Niles Gall.

Brian Wujcik, the head coach has been preparing the baseball field while it has been warm out during his off periods eagerly ready for the season.

“Everyday after school we’ve been practicing for a few hours, after every practice we usually relax our arms to prepare for the season. Ice baths really come in handy after our practices. My expectations would be to win conference. I’m a catcher, so one of my individual goals would to get 7% of runners out” says, senior Jesse Torres.

As the team had a season of winning streaks last season they are hoping to have the same outcome.

“We practice everyday to work on what we’re struggling on to help us prepare to get better. I’m excited for the first game I think we are most likely to win but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try like we can’t. We lost a lot of good players last year because they were seniors but hopefully we’re still as good and we come out strong. I’m a pitcher, my goal would be to have a low ERA (Earned runs average)” says, senior Brett Mitchell.
