The Richards Chess Team has been dominating this season and has been making opponents tip their kings all over the south suburbs of Chicago.

“The chess team is currently 10-1 in South Suburban conference. We just had our 10 game winning streak snapped by Argo last week,” explains Mr. Manuel Montes, chess team coach.

Sami Alqadi, senior, is currently undefeated at 11-0 despite the team losing their first game at Argo on Tuesday, December 5th. However, the team has a chance to tie Argo for conference in first place if they beat them in the last match of the season. Sami Alqadi also cannot be overtaken for first place since he is undefeated.

“We have one match remaining, and we may have a chance to defeat Argo depending on how we play, worst case scenario is that we get second,” explains Mr. Montes.

Overall, the Richards Chess Team has been very successful and hopefully they will end up getting first place in conference. Good luck Bulldogs!
