Starting Thursday, November 9th, Richards will be offering AP students extra help and support. The new AP Extended Day will talk about many topics such as note taking skills, stress/time management, college preparation and personal statement writing.

The idea for AP Extended Day stemmed from the AP Brain Camp, a week long summer camp that helped Advanced Placement students with the same things that the Extended Day will cover. Last year, the Brain Camp was cancelled due to lack of sign up, most likely caused by it being in the summer. The Extended day is a good alternative to the summer camp, and hopefully will bring in more participants.AP teachers like Mr. Wydra, Ms. Cruse, and Mrs. McKimson-Rhodes will be giving the session. Other schools in the district such as Shepard and Eisenhower will also be doing its own version of the program..

When asked about other Extended Days, Mrs. Meg Dunneback said: “AP Extended Day will hopefully become a regular part of our school year. This year we are planning on having three extended days: November, February and April.”
