The new freshmen are still getting used to their new Ipads, but are still very excited to be using them in school and being able to bring them home.

Freshmen, Adrian Flores said “It was hard to get used to at first because i’ve never had an Ipad, but i eventually got the hang of it and it was very helpful”.

The Ipads are not so new to some freshmen, such as Julian Flores and Ryan Cook who both attended Prairie Junior High and were provided with school laptops. The freshmen both thought of the new Ipads as an upgrade to what they had last year.

The Ipads also helped students be more organized with their work and helped them keep track of what they need done. Juan Luevano said “My homework was always lost in my folder in middle school and now that I have an Ipad, I can keep track of my assignments and never lose my work”.

Most freshmen including Patrick Lachowski and Justyn Traynere use Google Classroom almost daily in their classes, which allows them to keep their classwork in separate class folders. Justyn says “Google Classroom is the best school app to use because it keeps your work organized and it’s easy to use”.

Freshmen also seemed to have no dislikes to using the Ipads beside having a hard time writing with their fingers. Freshmen Waseem Razik said “Using your finger to write on the Ipad was really annoying because it would look sloppy and my hand would start to hurt”.

That problem was very quickly solved, when teachers would start to sell Ipad styluses in their classroom for 50 cents.

Freshmen also enjoyed taking their Ipads home because they could turn in their homework at home on the Ipad and they don’t have to worry about turning it in the next day.

Siarra Simpkins and Emerita Davila both use their Ipads after school to watch videos that their teacher assigned to them for homework and go on social media when they finish their work.
