There will be a new Nia club instructor for the 2017-2018 school year. Ms. Ratliff, the former NIA Club instructor, has stepped down from the position and has passed the responsibility to the new Goldie’s coach, Ms.Hope.

The term, NIA, means purpose rooting from an African language. NIA is also one of the elements in Kwanza which is a west African celebration.

Ms. Hope plans on having a more student lead club this year. “The overall goal for NIA Club is to help students learn who they want to become in society and basically in their culture…” Ms. Hope states.

If you are interested in NIA Club, be sure to join the NIA Club page on Google Classroom. The class code 413LXEQ. The first NIA Club meeting will be held on September 27 at 3:25pm in the Cafeteria. For further information, please see Ms. Hope in the activities office.
