Students who are in AP Classes are taking exams for two weeks from Monday, May 1st – Friday, May 12th, in the administration building. School Counselor Ms. Nancy Goesel gave schedules to each teacher about the time and dates of the exams.

“The AP Testing is taking place in the admin building. We thought if students were to take their exams at school, the bell would constantly interrupt their focus on the exams, so if they were to be moved to a more quiet area or building they are more likely to concentrate and possibly get higher scores.” said Ms. Goesel.

There are approximately 769 students who registered to test for both weeks.

“All of the tests that are being taken fall into science, English, foreign language, math, music, social studies, and science subject categories” said Ms. Goesel.

The Subject with the highest amount of students for Week 1 of exams is Social Studies.

“There are many academic and economic benefits of taking AP exams.  If students do very well on their AP exams, colleges will give them college credit for taking those AP classes. Since most colleges, and universities are looking for students who have worked successfully in challenging courses, taking AP courses are steps in the right direction, and will save you time and money” said Ms. Goesel.

By taking these classes, students are proving themselves to colleges and universities, that they are ready for the college work demands.

“Students may ask their counselors, or teachers for the schedule of the exams for both weeks” said Ms. Goesel.
