The girls’ basketball team had their last home game of the season, as for the seniors, it was their last home game of their high school career.

The gym was decorated, by the lower teams in the program, to show their love for the seniors of 2017.

There were 10 seniors total this year: Shannon Meegan, Sydney Izzo, Lexi Dryier, Stephanie Eklund, Davianna Jones, Jailyn Wilks, Ayah Kurdi, Taylor Ivory, Lillianna Rivera and Klaudia Sulka.

“The girls played well, but the last home game is all about the seniors last game on home court, we wanted them to feel that they are always going to be a part of this team/program when they leave Richards,” said head Coach Jeff Kortz.

Even though they lost by 6 they had played hard, and went out there and played like it was their last game (ironically), said assistant coach Lester McDaniel.

“We played well as a team, as a family, and that’s all that really mattered,” said senior Shannon Meegan.
